Stop Counselor Overload

Guidance counselors are essential to students. They play a major role in deciding a student's future. Guidance counselors are supposed to be there to counsel students. They are also supposed to be there to help students get their credits straight so that they may be able to attend college. However, this does not always happen.

YEA, (Jonathan, Dionna, Whitney, Ann & Mike Caton and I), the Youth Action Research Group, and thousands of immigrants marched to support immigrants  in their fight for citizenship. We marched from Malcolm X Park to the Washington Monument. It was held on Monday, April 10, 2006 and lasted from 12:00 noon - 7:00pm.

DCPS students on Oprah show

On April 11, 2006, I was on the Oprah show. There was a 2 minute clip that a schoolmate and I were in, Failing Grade: Shame of Capitol Hill, about the DCPS school system. The show was about the inequalities of education in the U.S. The show compared the schools in the country with the highest graduation rate to schools with the lowest.
